socks

wowza!

There you go, Lo**. There’s my socks. I’m working on a pair that has a lot of purple in them now. 🙂

And, of course . . . this being Alaska . . . and this being winter . . . with lots of snow on the ground . . . OF COURSE . . . you have to wear them with sandals. You’ve gotta show them off, after all!

And, nope – my feet didn’t get cold at all. Nice and toasty warm.

Iditarod update:

Sadly, one dog has died. Karen Ramstead has pulled out of the race in order to mourn 6 1/2 year old Freckles who died on the trail and has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Still not feeling too swift – just WHO in the world invented THIS CRUD??? People at work are still dropping like flies – and I have missed more work this month than I have at any one time in the five years I have worked here!

Came in this morning – still feeling yukky, but able to at least sit up and take nourishment as hubby moose says. Having some trouble breathing, and my voice isn’t full strength, but am not coughing as much as I had been.

Iditarod updates! See the links on the right side of that page – you can find out up to date information on who is where and who has scratched. I think there are still 61 or so out of the original 82 starters still in.

Lance Mackey is into Koyuk and making a dash for Nome!!! Yay, Lance. He said on the tv news this morning that he has youth on his side. (Young pup!!!) An interesting side note on Lance Mackey. He made sure he was FIRST to sign up for the race – so that he could get bib #13, which is the same number his dad and brother wore when THEY won the race. So, he’s got THAT going for him, too.

Of course, I wouldn’t mind Paul Gebhardt winning, either. That’s essentially a home town “boy” – his wife works for the advertising department of our newspaper.

And, King might still pull it off. He has the moxie and the, shall we say, self-awareness, to do so.
