Alaskan Purl is holding a yarn giveaway to celebrate her 100th post. Check it out.

Yummy sock yarn in three shades of green. You know you want it. 🙂

And – it’s always fun to find “new” Alaskan blogs – especially when they are wrapped around my favorite passion . . . knitting.

See you there.

A disclaimer right up front . . . I have never seen Firefly – or Serenity. I know – my cult show watching is sadly lacking (also have never seen Lost)
🙂

But, Lessa recently asked me if I would make the Jayne Cobb hat for her friend in California. Seems the friend’s “friend” had stolen his Jayne Cobb hat and a new one was needed in order to bribe the “friend” to get the original back.

I hope it works – just in case, I made two for the friend – they are in the mail and winging their way to CA. The mail clerk took the package from me and said “Oooh, more knits?” Do they know me – or what?

So – here is a picture of me modeling one of the hats at the swim meet Saturday.

Daughter was well pleased with the hats and, during our trip to Homer Saturday, picked up some yarn from the Yummy Yarn Yurt

in colors SHE liked and asked me to make one for her:

Looks to me like she is well pleased. By the way . . . NOBODY can deny Lessa and I are related, can they?
🙂

ooooh – here’s Adam Baldwin discussing the hat – FUNSIES!:

kitties2 kitties

These are some toys made for Project #6 of the Sharing Our Gifts – 50 Projects for 50 States ongoing project. I’ve made 9 little kitties now – so simple, but soooooo cute. You can do these, too – check out the pattern here: Simple Knit Amigurumi

We will be doing baby items for the next project – I think. If you would like to be involved in these ongoing projects, drop Sinclair a note at her blog (linked above) or join us in the ravelry.com forums and let us know you’re there.

We are looking for project coordinators in the other states – someone willing to accept our mailed offerings, tally them up and take pictures of them – then to deliver them to the chosen 501(c)3 organization all at once. You can make some people smile.

Hope you’re enjoying spring – we had some snow last night – spring comes slowly to Kenai sometimes.

Happy first day of spring! Bring it on . . . 🙂
