This started out one way and ended up this – after a knock came on my door today. Here’s my take on Velvet Verbosity’s 100 Word Challenge: Compliments

The cafe wasn’t crowded at 11, which is why Donna chose it. It was a quiet spot where people gave her privacy.

Donna heard a man clearing his throat. She looked up as he smiled at her.

“That’s a great book. Enjoying it?”

Donna mumbled yes.

“I like your glasses – those are the rage these days. Look great on you.”

“Thanks, I’m trying to read here. Don’t mean to be rude, but”

“No problem, you’re Donna Jones, right?”

“Yes, why?”

“You’ve been served.”

Yellow paperwork landed next to her cup as Donna glared at his back.

“I hate process servers!”
