This week’s challenge is “Perfection” and I’d like to thank VV for allowing me a chance to guest post for her. Of course, I chose the word and it has taken me until now to write my own piece.

Stanley chose a carnation and placed it into his lapel. He brushed his shoulders one last time and checked his teeth in the mirror. His best brown suit was spotless. The trousers were creased meticulously.

He gave his wingtips a final buff against his calf. Opening the top drawer of his chifforobe Stanley chose a yellow-checkered handkerchief for his pocket. Brilliantine for his sparse hair and a final comb-over drew his eyes once again to the mirror.

It was time for his daily constitutional. Stanley Hanklesmann placed his bowler at a precise angle and went out to face his world.

How lovely and precise! I could “see” it all so beautifully. I wonder what Stanley is going to encounter out in his world this day?
