All the time I was watching I was not idle . . . I was keeping my hands busy knitting cloths for Project #5 of the Sharing Our Gifts – 50 Projects for 50 States . . . ASAP Homeless Services in Florida.

So far I have completed 4 and am nearly done with #5. I’ll finish it tonight. Our Sharing Our Gifts ravelry group is taking part in the Ravelympics and I just won my medal! My event is CharityCurling as my cloths will be going to a charity.

Spotted at Fred Meyer in the sister city Saturday morning. Replete in his mama’s little black dress, hose, 3 inch heels, jewels and makeup. He’s about 16 years old and, really . . . a good sport about losing the bet to his mama.

I love living in small town Alaska.

I haven’t peeked outside yet to see, but hubby said it was trying to snow last night when he left for work . . . . I told him that’s a good thing if it does . . . I can use some fresh snow to wipe all that Anchorage grunge off my car. (He didn’t want to go through the car wash because it was too cold and the doors might freeze shut – or open.)

I’ll look when it’s time to go to work. haha – nothing like procrastination in THIS house.

Took the week off work last week and was L.A.Z.Y. to the max. I told the women at work that I was not even going to pretend and say I was going to clean house. If I had to have a STAY-cation, I was going to do what I wanted to do . . . rest, read, and knit. And that is what I did.

Daughter Lessa and I did make a run to Anchorage (thus the road grunge on the car) Thursday – we did the walmart thang, ate, laughed, and talked until we could do no more. Then we slept and did some more of the same the next day before heading back to Kenai. We also went to the big 16 plex theatre and watched The Blind Side. (Gonna buy that one when it comes out – great movie)

Made a couple pairs of mittens/mitts last week also. One I can show you:

One of the groups I belong to at ravelry.com held NaKniMitMo10 . . . National Knitting MIttens Month 2010 . . . in January and I took part in the challenge to make at least one pair of mittens. I ended the month with 8 pairs. Yeah, I was shocked, too! Four of them were kiddo sized, but even still, that was a lot for me. Now, the group is voting on faves – mine aren’t pulling big votes, although one of the piggy mitts has gotten 5 votes!

That’s okay. I don’t mind. Some of the projects were gorgeous! I did go through, though, and vote for everyone who had 5 or less votes. I think people deserve more than one (likely their own) vote, don’t you?

Well, I need to check to see if it snowed, thus to gauge how much time I need to take before heading to work. More later.
