well, if you slur that together and say it quickly you will have my destination for later this morning. Yes, I headed off to Juneau for a (work)week’s worth of meetings.

It’s my first time to the state capitol – it is only reachable by land or sea so the funds for that are pretty slim. However, as this is work related, the agency is paying my way. Normally my boss would go, but she is out on that 3 month sabbatical and this is a pretty important meeting, so I get to go!

Whoot!

I’m all packed and ready to go – just waiting for hubby to finish making breakfast for all the grandkiddos and we are off to the airport when the littlest gets on her bus.

And, baby, it is COLD out there, too! Nicely enough, Juneau’s temps are in the high thirties and dry – at least for today. Yesterday I notice they had rain and high temps. Typical southeast Alaska weather.

So – I will not be posting for awhile (gee, Moosie, you KNOW how to post????) as I decided not to take the laptop with me. It would be just one more thing for me to schlep through the airports and I’m all about taking it a bit easier on myself these days.

😉

I have a Frank Peretti book with me. I have a notebook just in case the need to write overwhelms me. I have my camera, and sadly I have my cell phone – just in case work needs to reach me. (they’ve also been given the number to the hotel – but they are a good staff so they can handle things for a week) Heh.

While I’m gone you can amuse yourself by checking in on the Iditarod Sled Dog race. Among Lance Mackey’s dogs are six that have taken him to the winner’s circle in the last two Yukon Quest races and last year’s Iditarod. He is trying for a “four-peat”. God speed to all of them and safety. There were 96 who started.

Okay, folks you all be good. See you later.
