Ummmm – delicious smells abound – even though I am not cooking the turkey.
I did cut up and cook down some turkey bones from an older bird – it was a bit freezer burnt, so we thought it not wise to use that bird for the T-giving main course. Nothing wrong with most of it, though, so I have been a busy moosie.
Yummy broth came from that bird – it is being used for noodles and the dressing. Some of the turkey meat will be used in the gravy which will go over the brown butter mashed potatoes.
By the way – if you are at all unsure about how to cook anything today, please leave here immediately and go over to visit CNL at the Purple Porch. She has PICTURES! And, just repeat after her . . . we rinse stuff off – because we don’t know where it’s been!
And, speaking of that – has anyone followed the hoo-ha over Kelly Ripa being manhandled by Clay Aiken? Okay, I am that backward that I had no clue Clay Aiken was/is gay.
All homophobia-hysteria aside . . .
I work in the domestic violence field – (it is unusual that I get to see any daytime tv and, in fact, did not see this show – but saw the replay of the Rosie remarks this week on the Today show) it is not only impolite, but rude, and could be considered battery to place your hands on the mouth of someone you don’t know well, etc.
I am not going into the arguments about whether or not Kelly would have done or said anything if it had been someone else, say George Clooney.
Maybe Clay Aiken should have apologized immediately – or maybe he should not have been on the show in the first place – but, certainly, he should not have put his hand over anyone’s mouth. And, certainly, she should not have to apologize for being upset about it – nor should she have to come up with an excuse (he’s been shaking hands, I have kids, yadda, yadda, yadda).
Let’s all grow up – and keep our hands to ourselves, shall we?
Happy Turkey day, everyone!
Hey! Just stopped by to visit. Enjoyed it. I’ll be back.
Keep having fun!
