It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in with you all . . . I have been finishing up the family Christmas gifts. All of the grands, their mamas and my son-in-law received a hand knitted something. My fingers have been busy and are a tad sore. But, the surprise and joy with which each received their gifts more than makes up for that.
Wanted to share some pics with you:
Here’s Lessa with her new purple socks and a sock-blocker key chain with purple sock. This is a SpillyJane pattern, Hearts of December.
Also using the Hearts of December pattern – here is the Ladybug with her socks. The yarn was dyed by Lori RaseHall – one of her first dyed yarns. I bought it way back then (a couple of years ago now) because Ladybug said she loved it – and it waited for the perfect pattern. Standing next to Ladybug is her hubby in his new chapeaux – a simple k2 p2 pattern.
Peppermist models her gift – a scarf with attached mittens. I found this pattern in the Pints & Purls -Portable Projects for the Social Knitter book. She will never lose her mittens as long as she never loses her scarf. 😉
Grandson (the Boy) models his Jughead hat – from a pattern in domiknitrix – whip your knitting into shape. And, yes . . . I really am that short – or he really is that tall – or it COULD be an optical illusion (not).
😉
The rest of the patterns were freebies from websites or ravelry – if you want them let me know and I’ll dig them up for you. For now, however, just enjoy my grands with me.

And a wonderful day was had by all. Hubby received a new pair of slippers from LL Bean and I was spoiled with a ball-winder for yarn, a standing/carry-case for knitting projects, and 8 skeins of sock yarn (the Boy shares that he wears a size 13 wide! lol) and a gauge for sizing feet to socks (‘cos Peppermist does not do feet very well) and other goodies from the grands.
Of course there was food and lots and lots of laughter. I trust your Christmas was a good one, too.
