This week’s 100 Word Challenge by Velvet Verbosity is CHASM.
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock.
Martha closed her eyes and turned her face upward as she sang. This was one of her favorite hymns.
Not long ago bawdy tunes fell from Martha’s lips as she faced Friday night crowds. They flocked to hear her and ogle her clothes. Garish colors, lots of cleavage and thigh were the talk of the club.
Still Martha felt something was missing in her life.
Then a Man crossed the chasm that was her heart, healed her soul and claimed her as His own. Today she sings for Him alone.
That was beautiful. I really loved this line: ‘rossed the chasm that was her heart.’
This gave my chills as I reached the end. A sweet ending that has so much meaning!
This was so beautiful. I love the juxtaposition of her old life with her new. Crossing from one to the other would definitely involve some chasms
Awww… all it takes is one:-)
Well done. Well said, and the experience, for those who have had it, is so well illuminated here.
Wonderful look inside someone who has been changed by an incredible experience.
Beautifully written.
A journey of a lifetime, in 100 words. Very nice.
Beautiful. 🙂
