Monthly Archives:September 2012

What are you looking for, Angela? Stop – stop and look at me. I’ll help you find it.

You can’t help me. Nobody can help me.

Angela rocked in the seat he’d chosen for her. She wrapped her arms around herself and rocked, rocked, rocked to an inner beat.

Angela, you’re safe here. Nobody here will hurt you. We’ll help you find what you’re looking for. Can you believe that? Can you see that I am telling you the truth?

Sobs burst through her tight lips.

I’m looking for ME! I can’t stop looking or the pieces will all blow away!

My Blog Can Beat Up Your Blog

Lance and LeeRoy, with the help of the newly turned 8 year old “Goose” (Happy birthday!) have chosen a Counting Crows song, Come Around, this week. These are the words I came up with . . . where are yours?

Marti adjusted her mic, turned on her brightest smile and faced her audience.

Welcome to Spice Girls demo kitchen. Today I plan to show you how a well-stocked cupboard can enhance your kitchen. Yes, you have the basics – salt, pepper, garlic – but when is the last time you went through your cupboards and checked expiration dates?

Marti’s eyes swept the crowd finding her shill.

Ma’am? How old is the cinnamon in your cupboard?

I really don’t know. I think I’ve had it since we bought our house 10 years ago.

Heads nodded in agreement and Marti knew she had them.

VV’s challenge this week is Cinnamon. I hope you will check out her entry about that day.

The perfect Three – Father, Son, Spirit
shining brightly in her soul
together, molding her broken heart
into a perfect whole
her own mind, body, spirit
obedient to the Father’s will
now being done

This week’s Trifextra challenge is to write 33 words using the Rule of Three somewhere among them. It will be community judges – so if you’re reading and you like, please head on over and click my link. (as soon as the voting boxes show up, of course.)

Autumn approaches
Termination dust settles
Time to hibernate
————————————

Time for Friday Haiku with Lou. I put a link to a picture printed by a local newspaper story about Termination Dust – surprised I don’t have any pics at hand to show you. Will have to remedy that soon . . . well, as soon as I replace my camera. However we look at it, winter is fast approaching Kenai . . . the fireweed topped out a week or so ago and the air has a decided bite to it. We’re skipping past summer right into pre-winter.

Ahhhhhhhlaska – I love you, I do.

Let’s get married.

What? When?

Now. Let’s hop a train to Vegas and ride the pink Cadillac into the chapel with Elvis. Let’s get hitched, baby.

You’re crazy. We just met. I don’t know why anyone would want me anyway. I’d just push you away. I’d hurt you in the end.

I’m not crazy – I won’t let you push me around. I love you, baby. You know I do. So what we just met? Don’t you believe in love at first sight? Where’s your romance, girl?

Romance? Pfft! You don’t want me. I’m all used up. You don’t want me.

Mel, standing in for Lance and LeeRoy, chose Matchbox 20’s Push for this week’s 100 Word Song challenge. Wonder what will happen to my star-crossed lovers in days to come?
