This week VV’s guest poster was AuroraLee. Her chosen challenge was GAME.
———————————————————-
Two little girls busily bent over their task. It was tough work; Jenna’s lines weren’t very straight and Dottie’s numbers were often backwards.
“Here, take the yellow chalk, Dottie. I used it last time and I know it’s your favorite.â€
The girls giggled as they finished their diagram and reached for stones.
Stanley’s shadow fell over the girls and they giggled again.
“Good morning, girls.â€
“Good morning, Mr. Hanklesmann.â€
Taking out his yellow handkerchief Stanley polished a medium sized stone. He winked at each girl, stepped back a step and tossed the stone with great care into the first square.
Your turn – do YOU have game? Join us in the 100 Word Challenge.
Mr. Hanklesmann is my favorite. You are creating a wonderful character.
This was so great. I love how you related it back to last week! Something about Stanley seems magical, like the wink of an eye kind of magical.
This brings back memories… I wish the people would have joined us rather than complained about us marking up their sidewalks… LOL
Very cute! I miss hopscotch!
Ah, Stanley again – I would love to have this gentleman in my neighborhood!
