Today when I checked the mail I found my booty from the recently held Boob-Haha auctions –

purrrrty!

I just checked Wendy’s 3day site and it looks like she only has $57 to go to meet her $5000 goal – if you can, go on over and make a donation – EVERY dollar helps. And, even more fun, Wendy has said that she will SHAVE HER HEAD if she meets her goal. Now, you KNOW you want a part of that, right? Right!

Hubby moose and I are headed to anchortown in the morning. He has an appointment with an eye surgeon in the afternoon. Depending on the outcome of that he will be having cataract surgeries in August. I’ll update with the info when I get it.

You all have a great day!

of course, I mean to say “nothern WOMEN” because any female older than twelve is a WOMAN not a girl – right? Right! Hi, my name is moosie and I work in THAT sort of environment. heh

All that said . . . was at a store in the neighboring city the other night and captured the following picture:

badgrls

Bad Girls of the North – Artistically Driven. I particularly like how the sky appears in the truck window.

Well, I have no clue if these women are behind the above bumper sticker, but found a very neat website: Bad Girls of the North. It would not surprise me if they were not one and the same – although the bumper sticker shown on their site is different.

At any rate, I now have someone new to look for at crafts shows coming up. Woot!

So, Lisa said she was hereabouts looking for an update – I figured I should get in here and post one. Hi, Lisa!!!

Work has been a bit crazy and when I get home I have been “too poop-da to a-pop-pa” as an old Italian lady used to say to me. So, I get my one “paid” article written and then I am snoozing in my chair, generally.

But, since she asked . . . Hi, there! How is everyone doing? We are having rain, rain, rain. But that is okay – it helps green up the golf courses. (be sure to check out the wildlife photos on that site) Yes, Lisa, we have golf courses. And, yes, golfers sometimes have to let the moose AND the bears play through.

There are also courses in the Soldotna, Nikiski and Funny River Road areas. And, of course, there are several in the greater Anchorage area. But the above four are all within an hour’s (at most) driving time from where I live. So, any of you golfers out there who want a REAL experience, come on up to Alaska. We’ve got it ALL!

😉

So, I am going to get out of here now – tonight is a late group – hubby and I will share a late lunch/early dinner before I go to the group. Everyone take care!

>..<

p.s. I’ve also been reading the last HP book, Deathly Hallows. Finished it yesterday. Yum!

As part of my “real” job I co-facilitate some groups. I’m not a counselor – my duties are varied. But I learn – oh, how I sometimes learn – if the class participants think it is painful for THEM . . . well, it can be painful for the facilitators as well.

😉

One of the things we tell them is that they need to work their program – in simple terms we all need to be self-aware and deal with the everyday things in a proper manner. It does us little or no good to become upset or worried when things happen around us over which we have no control.

thus -we work our program. I’ve noticed some changes in me since I began the job – driving along the highway and getting cut off – yesterday I caught myself saying out loud “you can handle this – breathe – you’re fine – 1 – 2 – 3  . . . ” etc. I self-soothed.

I won’t minimize anything here by saying I never come unglued – or that I have never lost my temper. I have – but I am learning that it’s okay – I can handle these things – I know how to soothe myself.

😉

for instance – the mangy little dog next door that keeps yapping outside my office window – ohhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm – breathe – I can handle this. (the fact that the texasusedtobes insisted on putting the dog run in between our houses instead of on the other side of their house where there is a vacant lot that THEY own . . . breathe, moosie. You can handle this, too.)

yap, yap, yap, bark, bark, bark . . .

sigh.

Last night Lessa and the grands and I went to an Alaskan Salmon Bake hosted by a group of local Alaska natives. Good company and yummy food! What more can one ask?

Well, the drumming, of course. How much fun when the Pup was invited to join in. She was really wanting to do it – you could see the yearning in her whole body. So, she joined in and the older two groaned. 😉

check out our girl in action. (Thanks for the link, Lessa!)

and, thanks, too, to Lisa who sent me the following story about a man riding his lawn mower from Barrow, Alaska to Virginia.
