It started with rain
Wind blew trees sideways – leafless
And then came the snow

It’s Haiku Friday with Lou.

Drips and drops add up
Rising creeks kiss banks goodbye
Rain obliterates

Alaska’s SouthCentral region has been deluged with rain this week. We are okay here in PM land, but other places are not so lucky. Look at what is going on in Seward and tell me if YOU want to be that CAT driver? Yeah, me neither.

This Friday Haiku came pretty naturally as a result.

Autumn approaches
Termination dust settles
Time to hibernate

Time for Friday Haiku with Lou. I put a link to a picture printed by a local newspaper story about Termination Dust – surprised I don’t have any pics at hand to show you. Will have to remedy that soon . . . well, as soon as I replace my camera. However we look at it, winter is fast approaching Kenai . . . the fireweed topped out a week or so ago and the air has a decided bite to it. We’re skipping past summer right into pre-winter.

Ahhhhhhhlaska – I love you, I do.

Bring in the puppies
Batten down the hatches quick
Winds surge through Kenai

——————————————–
It’s Friday Haiku with Lou. While not hurricane weather by Louisiana standards, Alaska has been experiencing some extreme winds over the past two weeks. We’ve had gusts in the 45mph range here in Kenai. Up in Anchorage on the hillside there were winds clocked at over 125 mph. Lots of downed trees and loss of power situations. It’s time to tie down everything that is loose – including the puppies.
🙂

Road trip! That’s what she
Said and we buckled up quick
Driving with Mama

Time for Friday Haiku with Lou. Join us, won’t you? Another challenge this week is Road Trip so it was on my mind. That one will come in time, too. Daughter, Lessa, and I love to road trip.
