Okay – got your attention, didn’t I?
😉

My alternative title would be “Comfort Zone”.

Each weekday – most weeks – I join Ladybug at the high school pool. She does a REAL workout – she’s in training for her first triathalon – she works really hard and even does FLIP TURNS!

Yeah, me either! In fact, I don’t even put my face in the water – too worried about those brain eating amoebas, I am, I am.

What I DO is kick laps using a kick board. And, sometimes I run on in the water. I watched a young woman running through the pool (IN the water) one day and thought that it looked like a great workout. So, I started to add some running laps to my kick board laps from time to time.

Now she trains on land (she’s a soccer player) but I have continued to play at this new (for me) sport. AND, there are two men who are also doing several laps every morning. We have our own little groups you see.

But, back to the “comfort zone” and “granny panties” of the title of this entry.

shrinking woman!

look closely at these two pictures . . . count, if you will, the lines above the heads of the two women in the pictures. You would THINK that Ms. Thang would be smiling because . . .

she is (at least) one inch taller than her gramma!!!!!

sigh!

pictures taken at the Ohio Historical Society Museum in Columbus, Ohio. This is the museum which houses the mummy behind which said gramma received her first kiss (awwwwwwwww) when she was only 15 . . . from the hubbymoose, btw . . . who was also 15 at the time.

Again with the awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

but will you just LOOK at how short the moosie is getting! Sheesh! I used to be 5′ 41/2″ – somewhere along the line I lost an inch and she found it! Too bad all that height is going to my girth. lol

We had a great time – this despite the red devil eyes on Ms. Thang and her look of abject misery at (once again) being photographed by her doddering (short) gramma.

😉

hubby moose and I reinacted “the kiss” for her – at her request – so she could get a shot. Unfortunately (or maybe not) that picture is on HER camera.

and, about the angle of my head. Hubby mentioned that I might have been tilting it backwards and so it just seemed that I was an inch shorter. Awww, isn’t he sweet? Even if I had been tilting my head one way or another – the girl is STILL taller than I am. (much to my dismay) but thanks for trying, hubby.

Cancer Free!

Saw the urologist yesterday for my first followup since the surgery. I’d had the required bloodwork and CAT scan done earlier this month and he was now looking at the results.

He walked in and said – I am good to go. In fact, rather than seeing me again in three months, I do not have to go back for SIX months! Yay! I’ll need another CAT scan and a chest x-ray at that time – just to check things out.

Still have cysts on the left kidney he is watching.

And, he noticed a “white spot” near the right kidney he was wondering about – until he looked and realized that it is the scar tissue drawing up over the spot where the lipoma was removed.

Cancer free! I expected nothing less, of course. You know that when God works a miracle, it stays worked. Right? Right!

—————-
We had a great time in Ohio last week. I’ll write about it next time.

So, I’m in my last couple of weeks as the interim ed. In some senses, it’s seemed very short – could be that extra stint in the hospital has something to do with that. That, and the recuperation time after the surgery that required some half days.

😉

But, in other ways it has seemed like a very long three months. Could be the quirks and foibles of managing a diverse group of staff has something to do with that.

I am blessed because they are a great staff. They work hard for little pay (in comparison to big business) and they do it willingly because their hearts are with the clients. It’s a tough job that they do. I tell them often (but probably not nearly enough) that I am thankful for what they do.

Today the bookkeeper teased me when I complained about my left eye. It is probably just a bit of hay fever – but it has been itching like crazy for the past few weeks. My left eyebrow also had a bit of the twitchies a couple of weeks ago. We were standing together before leaving the building tonight when I mentioned these things and the bookkeeper just looked at me, grinned, and then told the rest . . . “there is something about people in ‘that office’. They all have SOMEthing go wrong with their eyes – they twitch – they . . . ” and she was off.

Is there something to it? Nah, probably not. But it gave us all a good laugh as we closed out what had been a somewhat tense day – and that’s not a bad thing, is it?

So, for your viewing pleasure . . . I give you a shot of the moosie in Juneau . . . . that is the Capitol building behind me and the bear. Welcome to Juneau, everyone.
