We found the crown the day Johnny died. Judd and I hid in the loft during the funeral, our sorrow the tether holding us there. Judd opened a chest and we saw jewels.

The editors at trifecta gave us three words – Tether Loft Crown – and tasked us with adding 30 more. These are mine . . . you have some time yet. Where are yours?

This picture was taken August 28th when hubbymoose and I drove to Anchorage for the day. Beautiful Kenai Lake. Post is written for Trifecta Writing Challenge: HAIKU.

Edna’s breath caught at the beauty outside her kitchen window. This day was full of promise. A lullaby slowly crept from her heart to her lips. She rocked her unborn gently in time.

Trifecta’s editors posted a picture and requested 33 words with no gore, no angst, only beauty and joy. I hope the above fits.

There are times when the darkness is just too great, too powerful, too overwhelming. There are times.

There are times when the light just flows in, flows around, flows through me, you, we.
There are times.

There are times when I’m blinded by the darkness, by the light, by the EVERYthing
There are times.

There are times when you don’t understand, I don’t understand, we cry.
We cry.

And then . . .
There is the you of it. There is the me of it. There is the we of it.
Those times? Those are the times I love best.

photo of Peter Noone, aka Herman of Herman’s Hermits, from sodahead.com. Part of the British Invasion, and oh, so lovely to look at – AND – he could sing, too. What was not to love?

Written for Trifecta’s request for 33 words on TOOTH.
