You took my heart – tossed it aside
Wore me down – took me as your bride
Looked down at me with your lofty airs
Sent me into a world of despair

You took my heart – tore it in two
Stomped on it with your oversized shoe
Told me I’m stupid – deserved that shit
Turned me on to drugs – then dared me to quit

You took my heart – threw it away
Tossed it aside – left it to decay
Beat me down both inside and out
About my worthiness left me to doubt

You took my heart – I loved you despite
The hell you put me through every night
You took my heart – I’m taking it back
You took my heart – I’m. Taking. It. Back!

LouCeel does Haiku Friday! Thanks for the tip, Tara.

With all the angst in the FaceSpace world, Sara Jane found herself reeling. Words and sentiment were bandied about constantly: You whore! You slut. LOL. LMFAO. Friends friending – then un-friending at each perceived slight.

“I’m so lonely, but nobody must know.

I should update my status – EVERYONE must know.”

It was easier when she was just a blogger. Now people peeked into her every move. Inside her heart she could hear her mother tsk-ing and feel her shaking her finger in her face.

Child, you’ve certainly made a spectacle of yourself now, haven’t you?

Mother, please! It’s my life!

Velvet chose SPECTACLE this week for her 100 Word Challenge. These are my 100 words – where are yours?

“Let’s face it. It’s all about me.”

Richard slammed the door. An ending – a finality of emotion wrung from my heart.

He was gone. He was gone and I was left here alone.

I found the note – placed precisely in the center of our hospital cornered bed.

Amanda –
No more lies. I want to be here. I can’t be here. I feel life passing me by and I cannot bear it.

If I stay I will lose more of me than I can stand to lose. I need to be free.

Let’s face it. It’s all about me.

Goodbye

A darker challenge from Lance and Frelle, with Lacuna Coil’s Within Me. And, again, it will come as no surprise to you to know I’d never heard this song (I know, what DOES the Moose do with her days???) I am enjoying these challenges because they encourage me to widen my musicality somewhat.

My Blog Can Beat Up Your Blog

We were so young
Wet behind the ears
Out to change the world
Change the minds around us

Wild in our abandon,
We danced in the parks
Dishabille
Barefoot and fancy free

FREE

That was the word
We used to describe ourselves
Who we thought we were
Who we wanted to be

What we were
Was our parents
In junior form

Oh, we tried not
To let them rub
Off on us

They did

We got it all

We became them
As they had become
Theirs before

Wild and free
War torn and careworn
Not so wild after all

Human

ahhh those wild, wild editors at Trifecta challenged us this week to find out where the WILD ones are. 33-333 words using WILD in its third definition. Apparently I’m in a 100 word groove as that is the word count on this piece. How many wild words do you have?
