or breaketh

whatevah – it’s a big mess. Check it out at our local tv station. Be sure to click on the Kenai Flooding featured video (shiver!)

cue our gratitude that we never did buy a piece of waterfront property.

and, btw – the Bill Popp named in the story is a fatcat – I have run for borough office three times. I lost the first two times fair and square. The third time I ran against 4 other people for an open seat. I won – but not by enough. I had to have 40% of the vote to avoid a runoff election. I got something like 38%. So, the top two vote getters faced off a few weeks later. Bill Popp and me.

Not that I’m bitter or anything but I lost by 32 (!! THIRTY-TWO!!) votes. Sigh.

But, you know, if anything I am quite thankful lo these many years later that I did lose that election. He is sucking up to everything that walks – he is at the beck and call of the current borugh mayor (our former city of Kenai mayor) and HE has to stand on the banks of the raging Kenai River talking to the tv reporters as the ice chunks  . . . and trees . . . and docks . . . and fishing shacks . . . and . . . and . . . and . . . all go floating by.

heh
