Redoubt sunset 4-4-09

And, as soon as the sun dropped . . . BRRRRR!

Close up shot:

Someone yesterday suggested that I could sell these photos.
😉
Erm . . . nope. At this point, Redoubt pics are a dime a dozen. If you’d like to see some truly gorgeous shots (many from much better photographers/cameras than I/mine) check out the Flickr Alaska Volcano group.

Eye candy for the soul.

Did you feel the earthquake too? I wonder if there is a connection to the volcano?

Stay safe and out of the way of the Chevron oil tanks too.

hi, Bonnie – we have earthquakes all the time – generally don’t feel the “little” temblors – anything under a 5 is generally unnoticed.

And . . . the oil tanks are on THAT side of Cook Inlet – the same side as the mountain – we are not in harm’s way from them.

So far – the ash has missed us – and the wind patterns for tonight and tomorrow look like it will continue to miss us if Redoubt erupts again. Thanks for stopping by. 😉

Barbara, I have been watching this volcano over at their website since it first started showing signs of erupting. Your photos are every bit as good as ones I’ve seen there. Maybe better!

Good to know the ash and quakes aren’t affecting you too much. Here we do notice magnitude 4 or greater, but I did grow up in So. Calif. so I’m used to rocking and rolling a tad bit more than most. The fellow I work with is from Oregon so he gets freaked out at any earthquake of any magnitude, although he is more used to volcanos than I am.
