It all started with one; deep, rich, chocolaty brown. One innocent look and I was smitten. Just one, just one little one, and then:
Another came into view and was quickly snapped up.
Another
And yet another
Until
Shelves were overflowing. I couldn’t keep up. The word got out and soon others were added to the mix by friends and family; every holiday, anniversary and birthday.
My home and work offices were inundated. Co-workers got into the act; online friends as well.
Now I have browns of all hues and purples, too.
One. Just one. That’s how it always starts.

This is my answer to VV’s 100 Word prompt Obsession. I think I need Stuffed Moose Anonymous or something. The pictures don’t even show ALL of them. I give them away and they come back two-fold. As Monk says . . . it’s a blessing . . . and a curse. lol
Thanks to a new little Blog Hop thing-a-majig below you can see everyone’s entries to this week’s challenge. How fun is that?
I understand completely…for me it’s M&M memorabilia…it’s taking over the house! LOL
It always starts with one! I enjoyed the imagery and gradual development of this–nice job.
i laughed throughout. its like you took me on a stream of consccious field trip. well done.
This has happened to me before! Unfortunately it always seems to happen with the things I really don’t want to collect lol
I can relate. I have a collection of over 1000 keychains and I can tell you where I got each 1 and who they are from.
You got me. That was fun! I’d have never known without the pictures.
Books. For me it’s books. When I run out of shelf space they start to form neat stacks. Sometimes there are even 2 or 3 in my bed.
My friends send me moose when they find them. I have a moose made of old utensils (forks are his antlers), and a big moose like your basket moose who holds a blanket. And there are so many moose ornaments on my Christmas tree. I love moose – especially the real living and breathing moose. I think they are so beautiful, even though many people say they’re goofy looking. Not to me they’re not. I just love their long noses and their beautiful brown eyes. 🙂
Cute! Our family, when clued in on something, just keeps buying and buying. I bought a cute little piggy for my desk a few years ago and people still buy me stuffed pigs. There’s nothing to do with them. Argh.
Nice work describing how the obsession grows.
I’m definitely chuckling. I’m a bookaholic myself. I can’t seem to stop acquiring books. I thought it would get better with the purchase of my kindle, but apparently not. But it’s a sweet obsession. I do notice that you’ve titled your blog appropriately!
