Puckerbush Island Marina

Fat Seagulls
Wings flapping

Low tide
No sailboat

Never mind
Don’t panic

Change

Wild – green – hidden

Starflowers
Lilies of the Valley
Pink Impatiens

Leave them

Mother . . . child
Comforting thought
Relief

Trifecta’s challenge this week is to look at page 33 of their favorite book – pick out 33 words – make them our own and write something. My something is above. Where’s yours?

    Great set of words

  2. Draug419 says:

This could belong in a travel guide for the island (:

  3. Colonialist says:

Wow, that is amazing. You have conducted an entire excursion using the 33 words.
    That sunset is surreal.

  4. Believe it or not I do feel rather panicky at the sight of a fat seagull. I like how you used 33 words, it seems like so much more.

Sweet images of the mother and child exploring. If only those fat seagulls would stop flapping their wings! Beautiful photograph too.

I really liked the imagery here. The image of the mother comforting her child at the end mad me think that she was protecting/comforting him or her from some type of peril. Great choice of words. Really nice, strong piece.

    Hectic and colorful. Good one!

I like the stream of consciousness feel to this poem. It fits the image nicely.

Not to take anything away from your story but, once I saw the word choices available to us and how so many of the words dealt with water, sailing, flowers, Nature, etc., you were one of the first people that popped into my head. I am sure you could have written this by simply looking out your front window! Lol! You are so very lucky to live where you do. I did enjoy your post and, as evidenced by my own piece, I agree with your interpretation of this weekend’s prompt. Way to go, Barbara! 🙂

  13. LInda says:

This is just beautiful Barbara. Uniquely your own! 😀 I love the picture too.
