Mama moose nurse babies in the middle of the road. Nearby farms have baby llamas and foals. My grands and I go to the beach.
Summertime Alaska is short, sweet, too soon gone.

The trifecta weekend challenge is on summer. We cram so much into Alaska’s short summers that it is hard to describe in just 33 words. So, I picked a few of my favorite things that I’ve gotten pics of so far. As always, click for larger versions
Fascinating. Enjoy it while you can!
Flash 55 – The Accidental Gardener
sounds lovely actually.
It sounds lazy and slow, which is how summer should be, whether it’s a long one or a short one.
Moose in the summer? For some reason, I thought they just, like, went away during the summer or something. Thanks for linking up. Don’t forget to vote at the end.
Aw, sounds pretty nice! Sometimes the shortness is what makes it so special (said the girl who endures 6 months of winter each year!). π
I don’t know but, the more you describe Alaska, the more it sounds like the life I knew, growing up, on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Short, cool summers with the odd scorcher of a day thrown in. π
Sounds lovely and full of activity! Enjoy it while it lasts π
These moose are much more cool than the squirrels that show up in my backyard.
oh how I would miss the HOT summers!
lovely description of the way you view the season of sun.
π
I think I want to spend this summer at your house!! This was such a joy!
The two times I’ve been to Alaska I thought it was such an amazing place! I can imagine how summer there must be-and oh, I loved seeing moose! You captured your summers perfectly in these 33 words!
Soon gone, yes, like in Finland… PS – another challenge! http://yepirategunn.weebly.com/2/post/2013/06/ligo-haibun-challenge-1406-2106.html
You make it sound so inviting. That was an invitation, yes? π
the brevity makes it all the more cherishable. reminds me of my fair days growing up. always loved seeing the baby animals.
Sounds like Swedish summer… it’s also bright nights π
Beautiful pictures…looks like u had a great summer.
This is a lovely picture of summer – enjoy your time at the beach.
Moose make everything different! Love the photos, too.
