Last week was a crazy one . . . annual run was held Saturday and the final week of last minute prep is always crazy. This year was no different. We’ll be tying up loose ends – thank you notes and the like – over the next couple of weeks and then . . . begin planning next year’s run.

The day of the race was rainy with sun spots – perfect runners’ temp – not too hot and not too cold. I didn’t hear any complaints from the participants about the rain (we were, at that point, in a record breaking 28th day of rain!) Some of us who had to stand out in the rain, however, may have admitted to our distaste once or twice.
🙂
I left the race and ran home to get ready for a wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and fun reception.

Today, after church, another wedding. Must be something in the air. Both weddings had black and white as main colors. The first had red as a contrast. Today’s had just a hint of purple to contrast.

Now the big excitement is all over – at least for the guests – and it promises to be a quieter week – at least, more mundane week.

An update on hubbymoose – we are still seeing the wound care clinic, but it has been bumped down to once a week – so that is improvement. The boot seems to be holding everything in place and the orthopaedic doc seems pleased with that. We will see him once a month until he is happy.

I lost a crown Saturday before last – had it reaffixed Thursday of this last week. Friday it came off again. Big sigh. Not painful, but the additional glue the dentist used to “hold” it this time is very abrasive and is rubbing a sore on my tongue (ouch).

He will see me again Tuesday – will have to reshape what is left of the tooth and get a new crown made. Hear that squealing? Yeah, that’s my wallet.

Did I say it was going to be a quieter week . . . hahahaha. See you soon, folks.
🙂

on my head. Actually, the sun(‘ll come out tomorrow! stop singing, Moosie!) is shining right now. Lovely.

Yesterday (and several other yesterdays) it was raining most of the day. After hubbymoose’s wound clinic appointment I dropped him at the house and then checked the mailbox for the previous day’s mail.

The grass was sparkling in a dim sunlight . . . I looked closer . . .

It’s a beautiful world we live in.

Rest in peace Senator Ted Stevens.

Yup, been snapping shots from the car – and around the car. Travels in and around the Kenai Peninsula can be way too much fun.
🙂
Took hubby to Anchortown last week to see his diabetic doc – and was glad to have the camera handy while driving through town.

Don’t you feel much safer knowing the Alaska Spy is on the job? Lessa tells me her hubby used that moniker (well, the Spy part) on his tax forms every year.

Got an extra $50,000 cashier’s check lying around for an opening bid?

Check out what we fondly call the Million Dollar house – which is up for auction this Thursday. You need that spare 50K just to be allowed to bid.

We used to live at the fish processor just beyond where this house was built. Then we moved “into town” into a modest “farm home” house with 3 bedrooms and one bath. We still live there – don’t plan to move up or out. All we need is a place to sit and a place to eat and a place to sleep and we have all that. We are blessed.

My mansion will come when I go Home. And, I will be happy with whatever the Lord sees fit to bless me. I’m looking forward to that homegoing and hope you are as well.

Still – it’s fun to watch how others live, huh?

btw – we know the man who built this house. I have never been able to imagine him living in it – maybe his wife, but not him. He’s a rough, tough, wizened old fisherman who wears Carharts and Extra Toughs and a polyester billed cap that always – ALWAYS – sits atop his head askew.

With real estate being what it is, I have to wonder what is fueling this sale. I am trying to figure out a way to leave work half an hour early Thursday in order to wander over for the auction. Not sure I’ll be able to manage it.
