Washington Monument?

Thursday Challenge – Energy

This photo was taken on the DC trip. We were waiting for our turn to go up into the Washington Monument. The wind was extremely brisk – estimated to be 90 mph with higher gusts according to their weatherman.

This is one of the chaperones of the 8th graders. Just as I snapped the shot, the wind dropped in intensity, but you can still see most of the flags standing at high attention.

The kids all held open their jackets and let the wind catch them like kites. Or they would jump straight up only to come down 2-3 feet behind where they started. They had a wonderful time.

sorry, folks, no wild flowers here abouts. See that white stuff under the stuffed Flower? Yup, even though it is melting at a fast pace, we still have tons of snow left. Sigh! No flowers probably until late April, early May.

Enjoy my little guy, though.

Entry for Odilia Liuzzi’s Inspiration Challenge: Doors. That’s one well used and abused door. Found on the shed in our back yard – I couldn’t get to it through the snow, so I opened our dining room window and leaned waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out to take the shot. (where there’s a will, there’s a way)
