– – – - Flip-flop – flip-flop – up and down the hall all day long. At least 3 co-workers today were wearing sandals that, because there was no ankle strap, flopped off their feet with every step. Okay – we’re pretty casual here. Several in admin. wear capris to work. Capris and flip-flop dress sandals.
– – – -  And, of course, being as they are sandals, they are worn withough hose or socks. So, actually what I am hearing is a “squoosh” or “thwock” of the person’s flesh each time I hear “flip-flop.” It’s a veritable concert: flip-squoosh-flop-flip-thwock-flop” up and down the hallway time and time again.
– – – -  OMG! Glide, people glide! Let’s not be elephantine! Let’s be gazelles . . . is that too much to ask?
– – – -  Does anyone reading this think that it is time for the Moosie to have some time off? Yeah, me, too. 😉
– – – -  So, the director had 2 interviews today – the position “closed” yesterday. Hooves are crossed. (and, btw, thanks to everyone who commented on yesterday’s post. I appreciate the words and hugs)

– – – -  photos and more behind the cut . . .
– – – -  Today at lunchtime I drove over to our small cemetery to see Ladybug’s little guy’s new marker. You know . . . I don’t think I have been to my Mom’s gravesite since we buried her in 1973! But I’ve spent quite a bit of time visiting this little guy. The marker, btw, is very nice.
– – – -  After I saw it and said “hey, buddy,” I began to look for my brother-in-law’s gravesite. The family has never been able to put a marker on it and the one from the funeral home (plastic covered paper with his name and info) has been destroyed by weather. I thought I knew right about where it was, but I couldn’t be sure.
– – – -  So I called the funeral director (yes, “the” – NOT “one of the” – it’s a small town) and asked if he could help. And he did – gave me section, block, and plot numbers. Ummmm -yeah, okay, how do I know where that is? I asked. So he gave me names to look for the next time I go – should be easy enough to find now. I was right there today! I remember seeing all of those names.
– – – -  It would be nice to get a readable marker on the site. Some day.
– – – -  In the meantime I took some photos of a few of the more “remarkable” sites. They are quite Alaskan and quirky. Oh, wait – quirky is the definition of Alaskan! 😉 Ah, well – enjoy.

I call this the rock gravesite. It has quite an eclectic mix of stuff on there – shells and rocks and rubber duckies and stuff. Oh, and do note the beer bottle on the arm of the cross.

You gotta love it, right? Can you see the red-hatted gnomes? The stone says “WELCOME”!!!

Ahhhh a hunter. Those are moose jaws around the headstone there. Actually, I think it must be a footstone because at the head is . . .

this. Moose horns and fishing lures decorate this home-made cross.

There are a lot more eclectic gravesites throughout the cemetery. If I get a chance I will take more photos and post them for you to share. Remember my motto, okay?

I live in Alaska – I make my own fun!

take care, everyone.
