So, Lisa is doing it

and Faith is doing it

(bet you thought I was gonna say I am doing it – nope)

Lessa is writing about Survivor for her share:

Okay, Survivor fans . . . Go on over and hit her – okay? Every time you read one of her 451 Press posts she will receive a share of the advertising monies. And, you don’t even need to buy anything. How cool is that.

So, while I have never (NEVER!! the horror) watched a Survivor episode, I am having a great deal of fun reading my daughter’s snarkiness about Survivor. You’ll enjoy it, too. Links below:

Survivor Fiji, Survivor Fiji, Episode 2, Episode 3, Sylvia, Leader or Bossy?, How do I love thee?, It’s Survivor Day!, Episode 4 recap, Papa Smurf update, Survivor Live, Dinner Impossible, Monday, Survivor Style, and Sneaky Peeks.

I’m sure there are more to follow.

I’m still feeling miserable, but plopped in front of the tv this morning to watch (in between sneak naps) the ceremonial start of the 2007 Iditarod Dog Sled Race. Now, there may be some out there who feel that the poor doggies are put upon and harmed by this race, but those people apparently have NEVER seen these doggies begging to be let onto the trail. They yip and they yap and they pull like crazy. Good doggies!

So, here are some links for you to follow over the next week plus – line up and place your “bets” ladies and gentlemen, who will be the winner of this year’s race to Nome?

Nope, I don’t know, either. But, it looks like a great field – lots of rookies to the race – several who were born/raised in Iowa, Lisa! One of those was #67, Matt Anderson. (he’s the only one whose number I got written down – between those sneak naps and all, you see). His bio says that he currently lives in Pineville, WY.

The Darlin’ of the course, of course, is DeeDee Jonrowe. It would be so wonderful to see her take the race! She’s had a tough row to hoe the past couple of years.

You can follow along on the course by going to the official Iditarod site, or race sponsor, Cabela’s, or my tv news station of choice, KTUU.

And, today is Susan Butcher Day. She is the only female four time Iditarod winner. Last year, in the midst of her battle with leukemia, she came out onto the race course and helped at the checkpoints along the way. She said that the racers had supported her and she wanted to give a little back. Susan lost her battle with cancer August 5, 2006.

Well, I’m headed back out to my chair – type atcha all later.

did anyone get the license number of the truck that ran over my head, throat, nose??? Ack! Maybe I just read too many Adam @ Home cartoons . . . yuk!

I need to lay low for a few days to try to get better – I see the dentist on Tuesday for a crown prep. I can just see it now . . . “Okay, Moosie, open wide . . . argh!” (the dentist) “AHHHHCHOOO!” (me)

Good news, though. My review went VERY well yesterday . . . my boss is thrilled with my work and very encouraging. I took in several small projects I had begun work on, to ask for her go-ahead and she LOVED each of them.

There was even a carrot dangled . . . If ever a(n unnamed, but known) position comes open again, I would strongly encourage you to apply. I can see you doing that job.

Wow! Mr. Moose just said “See!?!”

Now I am going to go plop myself in my chair with a blanky and a hot cuppa something.

Finished Frank McCourt’s Teacher Man yesterday. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of his books – maybe it is the Irish kinsmen thing. Maybe it is that I can honestly say, gee, he had a tougher childhood than mine (because we ALL know that OUR childhood was tough, right?) Right.

The coworker who brought in the book said she didn’t like it as well (if at all) as Angela’s Ashes and ‘Tis.

but . . .

you know me – all eclectic and that . . . I thoroughly enjoyed it.

In other news – this is the chair I’d like for my “reading corner” if I had such a thing (I read ALL OVER the house!). And, now I can’t remember whose site I saw it on – sorry, but if you read this just let me know and I will give you the credit for showing it off first. 😉

In other news . . .

tomorrow is my annual evaluation with my boss – at 11 a.m. – and, for the first time in five years, I’m not even worried. Hmmm, that might not be a good thing – but I seriously don’t think I will get a bad review – and, it’s not like I’ll get a raise out of it or anything. We are a non-profit and IF we get a raise, it is because the budget can stand it and they are not on a pay freeze.

I received a COLA last year and the year before. At the first pay period of the month following my hire date – which means the first pay in August – if we aren’t on a COLA freeze, I should get one.

that would be nice – of course, since we are on a fiscal year, it is all wrapped up into the budget and such – and who knows, I may be bumped back down to 30 hours or less again. Hope not. We’ll see.

Nope, still not worried – haven’t talked myself into it, yet. Think I’ll quit while I’m ahead. Thanks to everyone who peeked in on me via webcam yesterday. I hope you didn’t see me eating that sloppy (VERY sloppy) tuna sandwich. Mercy! That would be embarrassing.

heh :moose:
