The nun’s glasses had again slipped down her nose. A group of tittering students called attention to it as she overheard one remark; “Sister’s looking down her nose like she thinks she’s better than us.â€
Sister Maureen stepped away from the cheeky teen girls.
“Little twitsâ€, she thought. “I AM better than you – if my father had not decided I had a heavenly calling I’d be married now and living in luxury. Instead I must witness your unseemly giggles and snide comments daily.”
Maureen sighed, adjusted her glasses, rang the bell and called the girls back in for afternoon studies.
