seanhat?

Can you tell I have the day off? (It’s Seward’s Day)

ANYway – above you see The Boy with “THE HAT” at Rosita’s Friday night. THE HAT comes out whenever someone is celebrating their birthday. As we are pretty regular customers, the owners don’t mind if we are off by a day (or week) or two. The Boy, of course, celebrated his birthday in D.C. with me and his classmates. So, while mama was away, we took advantage of the time and celebrated homestyle.

He wanted me to take this photo – “look, Gramma! They gave my soda to me in a BEER glass!” Thinks he’ll fool his mama. Yeah, right. It was beer, all right – ROOT beer. 😉

seandrink?

. . . which he downed quickly. 😉

and, then . . . the pic of the night – sorry for the shakiness – the Boy and the server, Miss Cheesey Smile herself:

He was ALL grins after that pic was taken. Again, Boy,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

zayballpit?

I would have entered this into Inspiration Challenge’s Multi-colour contest – if only I had gotten the shot before that challenge was closed. 😉 Nevertheless, there is our youngest grand-boy playing in the ball pit at his sister’s therapy place. It was her therapy graduation day and while she was off working, he was exploring the rest of the rooms. This was a happy circumstantial shot and, yes, it is being printed out for the wall of my office. I have one frame that I continually change photos in – it faces the door, so many of my coworkers stop by to see the newest. (I’m printing a copy for you, too, Ladybug)

Doesn’t he look like he is having a ball? (pun intended). (more…)

toe?

Toe Tappin’ Kinziebug

aka “Toeboe”

This week’s Brookston Photo Challenge is a woodwind instrument with an extra point if it is a real one. Extra points for humor – I’m trusting that the shot of Kinzie holding up cousin ‘Raiah’s (Raiah Rocks!) clarinet will bring a smile to all of you. I was going to call this entry “Toeboe” which would have been perfect if the instrument had been an oboe and not a clarinet. Ah, well. Toe Tapping Kinziebug works just as well. The clarinet was too heavy for her to support, and we all laughed at her inventive answer to that problem.

😉

The Girl (seen on the Flickr Bar) loves the clarinet that her daddy got for her. She is learning a lot in 6th grade band and hardly ever squeaks. But, even sweeter is that she enjoys sharing it with her little sister and her cousins. Buglet especially likes to toggle one key while The Girl plays – he loves to hear the warble that he can make by doing that. Surprisingly each one of the kids – TAT, D-bug and Buglet all got sound (!!!) out of the clarnet when they tried. Well, the Buglet didn’t get as much out of it when HE blew into it, but Kinzie is a natural.

You didn’t want to celebrate your birthday, so we did it for you. I whined about not having a cake for MY birthday so you and the Girl decided to bake one for me. Interestingly enough you were asked to help her bake it on YOUR special day. 😉

Because we can, that’s why.

31 is not OLD, darlin’ – you’re just getting started and have the whole world at your feet.

This is a repeat pic because it really is my all time favorite of you. As I said on TAT’s birthday, you were so smitten with him that it was a joy to watch. Indulge your old mama in this, will you?

I knew you would – what choice did you have anyway? 😉

There is so much I would like to say to you – and your sister – about how proud I am of you and how blessed I have been to have you as my daughters.

Know this and know it always – I love you – love you both – forever and always.

I hope your day was a good one.
