Spun with Tears Thursday Challenge

All of you who had a part (and you ALL had a part – whether monetarily or through prayers and thoughts for him while he was gone) in the Boy’s trip to Europe . . . head on over to Lessa’s to hear a snippet of the choir’s performance from last night. I know, it is not the same as being there, but you will get a taste.

I, being the old softy that I am, was near to tears during several of their pieces. Most of the music was done without music. Some was done with instruments – viola and violin, flute, French horn. Lovely.

I, being the thrifty, crafty person that I am, took along one of my knitting projects – the felted bag – and worked on it while sitting through a 2 1/2 hour concert(!! – long, but worth it!!)

Harumpf! Well, I was going to post the photo here and brag about how much I had gotten done (see, moosie, it does not pay to brag!), but apparently flickr is having some sort of hissy fit and will not allow me to share. So – look over there to the right – if that is still working – and click on the pictures there. The bag is the two toned piece – I am showing you with my fingers where I was before the concert and you can see how much was accomplished during the concert.

here, I will post a thumb and you can go on to flickr to see the fullsized pic – how’s that?

The pink is the progress I made yesterday morning on the antique patterned baby bonnet. It is a sweet pattern.

So – I am off to work – everyone have a stupendous day!

:moose:

Heard part of a song on my way to work this morning that made laugh out loud – the sentiment, I’m sure, was honest and true, but it just cracked me up. I’ve no clue who was singing – or the name of the song – it was on the Christian radio station about 7:45 Alaska morning time.

The phrase? Talking about the crucifixion – after 3 days . . . you can’t keep a good Man down.

And my laughter? Not so much at the sentiment – because it is true – He arose on the third day – but more because my reaction was so much like my Grandma Abbott would have had – did have whenever my sister and I would rave about the (at that time) new group, the Beatles. She would roll her eyes and bemoan the insensitivities of youth these days.

Yes, I admit, my first thought was on the irreverence – or perceived irreverence of the phrase. But you know what?

I’m ever so glad that the devil could NOT keep THE Good Man down!

It is a GOOD Friday, indeed.

Hubby moose works as a Shadow at the middle school near our house. He works with a 6th grader and has a heart for each of the kids who cross his path daily.

One little girl is very ill – leukemia – and the parents of her classmates and others have been doing things to fundraise to help the family with the mounting expenses.

The latest event was a mass hair cutting of ponytails to be sent to Locks of Love.  The stylists worked for free – those who simply wanted their ponytails cut and sent to the charity paid no money. Those who wanted a bit of styling paid $25 which was, in turn, collected for the family.

A few days ago hubby came home and said he had made a wager with a teacher at the school – a male who has a very nice long ponytail. The women in the office had been after the man to get his hair cut for the fundraiser. He was reluctant (his SO wouldn’t like it) so hubby moose told him that if HE did it hubby moose would do it! (Hubby moose is VERY secure in his manhood!)
